Regarding the technical characteristics of ash, its density when dry is 680–750 kg/m³. Its hardness is approximately 5900 N on the Janka scale and 4.0–4.1 on the Brinell scale. Its high toughness makes ash resistant to impact loads and mechanical damage, ensuring the durability of products.

The sapwood is light yellow or cream-colored, while the heartwood color varies from light brown to olive-gray. The texture is somewhat coarse, with clearly defined annual rings and a contrasting grain pattern. The wood grain becomes more pronounced after staining.
